A Special Labor Day Message
It’s time to say that long goodbye to summer. Whether you are watching football, spending time with friends and family, hitting the road, or maximizing your time around the house, we wanted to take a moment to share this important Labor Day message (one that you might not hear that often at the office)-
YOU are (probably) a great worker. YOU contribute a lot to your team, department, and company. YOU have likely made sacrifices to your personal life for the good of the company. YOU bring talent, expertise, and professionalism into work with you every day. YOU are a valuable person (and that has little to do with what you do at work). Even if you are a mediocre or average worker, guess what? YOU have skills, knowledge, and do your job with such efficiency and productivity that you are still the envy of much of the world.
So relish this weekend American worker! Take pride in the work that you’ve done this past year. You’ve made it through a lot: personal and family issues, company politics, new corporate talking points and strategies, and IT issues. Maybe there was even a corporate reshuffling. Regardless, YOU should realize that YOU bring a lot to the table, just by being YOU.
And when Tuesday rears its ugly head, you can decide if all of that is worth sticking around to see if you get that 1% raise. With 4s and 5s, you might have a shot. If not, we will be here to help you prepare for taking that next step.
